Generating Room Artist Ayumi Shafer presents in collaboration with photographic artist Sarah Weiss Our Home, a choreographed performance.
In collaboration with photographic artist Sarah Weiss, Our Home aspires to amplify some voices of the AAPI community through explorations of family traditions and personal experiences of living in the Midwest.

CollabArts is founded by Ayumi Shafer of DanceBARN and local artist Sarah Weiss and hosted by the Praxis Gallery.

This program was started to bring artists working in all different mediums together and to create new collaborative works. With the goal of connecting a variety of art communities within the Twin Cities Metro area, the artists have been paired strategically to engage in collaborative art-making. The short 6-week work period culminates in a showcase to share the artists’ creative process with the community. Sarah Weiss and Ayumi Shafer (DanceBARN Collective) have been spearheading the installation of this program, which they plan to continue in the seasons to come.

Rumination
Praxis Gallery presents artist Sarah Weiss in an exhibition of photographic installation artwork that explores a broad, interpretive, and personal investigation of mental health.
All artwork is printed on silk organza and is installed as an interactive experiential exhibition. This exhibition is a collaborative event and will include dance performances
arranged by Ayumi Shafer of DanceBARN Collective and a music score created by sound artist Benjamin Soma.
